photoblog image "Inside the Dome"
An ascent to the top of St. Peter's (or most any other dome, I think) involves a fair amount of stair-climbing between the inner dome and the outer dome. Because of the shape of a dome, this space is naturally inclined.

This photo is vertical.

Nice shot - I take it this is St Peter's, Vatican City?
We went there a few years ago and were struck with this same effect, you're trying to walk upright but simply cannot do it without rubbing against the walls. I wanted to get a shot but it was so busy, we couldn't stop without creating a blockage.
Elizabeth Buie: Thanks, and yep, that's where it is.

The place isn't so busy in March. smile
